Hotel Highlights
We love keeping an eye on what’s happening at our favourite properties around the world, in fact we make it a primary focus of what we do. Here we shine the spotlight on four destinations that consistently offer the best experiences.
Gili Lankanfushi
Gili Lankanfushi, the epitome of Maldivian barefoot luxury, has recently reopened in the Maldives. Having undergone a complete renovation and rejuvenation, Gili Lankanfushi radiates exclusivity with newly refreshed and rebuilt villas, including some with new private pools. Upcycled furniture accompanies traditional natural materials and the Gili Veshi Marine Biology Shack will enable you to learn more about the ocean waters around you. The chocolate cave and underground wine cellar are still there to retreat to! It is still the perfect spot for those travelling alone and offers great savings for solo travellers. We loved the laid back sophistication of Gili before it’s renovation and are excited about sending clients there once more.
Curtain Bluff
Our old friend Curtain Bluff in Antigua continues to refresh and improve their all inclusive offering and has now included 2 complimentary PADI dives per stay. As a newly awarded PADI certified centre, Curtain Bluff has added to an already exceptional all inclusive resort. A Sovereign favourite, Curtain Bluff offers endless all inclusive activities, personality and a warm welcome and is a winner for couples, multi generational families and especially tennis lovers.
Rosewood Little Dix Bay
The British Virgin Islands are very much back on the map following the devastation of Hurricane Irma in 2017 and Rosewood Little Dix Bay is now open again having undergone a four year renovation. Founded by conservationist Laurence Rockefeller in the late 1950s, Little Dix stays true to it’s eco roots and the resort has been sympathetically restored with a a few added enhancements. Each of the 80 guest rooms, suites and villas enjoy an ocean view and that gorgeous beach is still a key focus. The resort now has four restaurants and an impressive spa as well as many activities including 7 new tennis courts. The exceptional Rosewood Explorer’s children’s programme keeps little ones happy from babies to teens making Little Dix a brilliant family destination.
Aman Resort, Kyoto
Japan is in the sport spotlight again this year with the Olympics kicking off this summer. Kyoto has an impressive hotel offering so the newest Aman Resort is in excellent company. Aman Resort Kyoto lies in the most beautiful and peaceful setting ensuring the Aman ethos of tranquillity and harmony is guaranteed. Despite its tranquillity, the resort lies within easy reach of Kyoto’s most important sites – explore the stunning golden temple of Kinkakuji, meet a gracious geisha at a traditional tea house, practice calligraphy with a local expert or meditate with a monk at Daiouin Temple.
